A lake effect Snow Advisory remains in effect until 7 PM EST this evening.
Heavy lake effect snow bands around the western side of Whitefish Bay... extending southeast toward Hessel and Cedarville... will shift eastward today toward Brimley and Sault Ste Marie as winds switch from north to northwest. Heaviest snowfall through this evening is expected to be focused across western and central Chippewa County... where locally around 6 inches of snow is possible. Tonight... low level winds will shift to the northeast... and should push remaining snow showers out of eastern Upper Michigan.

At 457 am... the temperature at the Gaylord regional Airport fell to 2 degrees below zero. This broke the old record for November 21st which was 1 degree set in 1987.
